How alokamera s.r.o. Started
We noticed something in 2019. Older adults wanted to stay active, explore nature, but most cycling routes weren't designed with their needs in mind. That's what sparked us to create something different.
Alokamera s.r.o. began with a simple observation. The Ohře river valley has stunning landscapes—rolling green hills, charming villages, peaceful waterside paths—but local tourism mostly pushed aggressive mountain biking or competitive cycling events. What about people who wanted to move at their own pace? Who needed rest stops that weren't twenty kilometers apart? Who preferred flat or gently sloped terrain?
We started mapping routes ourselves. Rode them multiple times. Tested rest areas, checked surface conditions, noted where shade was available. Then we partnered with local communities to create a network of gentle cycling paths that actually work for active seniors and leisurely riders. It's grown steadily since—now we maintain 8 different routes across the valley, ranging from 6 to 18 kilometers, each with clear signage and reliable rest infrastructure.
Our experience isn't theoretical. We've been at this for over five years, refining what we offer based on direct feedback from hundreds of riders. We don't just publish route maps—we maintain them, update them, and make sure every path we recommend is genuinely enjoyable.
